The Japanese government wants to extend a helping hand to improve the communication system in Tripura. In this context, the Second Secretary of the Japanese High Commission in New Delhi, Marie Sakai, had a courtesy meeting with Minister Sushant Chowdhury in the office room of the Secretariat this evening to examine the various possible aspects. First, Minister Susanta Chowdhury mourned the untimely death of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, who was shot dead by an assassin, and condemned the cowardly attack to Mari Sakai. Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has always emphasized India-Japan friendly relations. He played an important role in strengthening India-Japan relations. During the discussion between the two, the Japanese government thanked Minister Mari Sakai for expressing interest in extending cooperation in other areas including communication system in Tripura. Both have had very positive discussions in cordial atmosphere which will be very fruitful in near future.
