Hidden Camera Found in Women’s Washroom at GB Hospital, Security Under Scrutiny

 

Agartala, June 8: A shocking incident at GB Hospital triggered tension among patients and their relatives on Monday after a hidden camera was allegedly discovered inside a washroom reserved for women.

According to reports, a youth identified as Rajib Sarkar from Rishyamukh in Belonia had been staying at the hospital for nearly two months while attending to his father undergoing treatment. He allegedly installed a hidden camera inside the women’s washroom. The device was noticed by a patient’s relative, who immediately alerted the hospital’s security personnel.

Security guards detained the youth and recovered the camera. Subsequently, police from the GB Hospital Outpost arrived at the scene and took him into custody. During preliminary interrogation, the accused reportedly admitted to recording videos of several women on his mobile phone.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the act and whether the recorded photos and videos were shared or uploaded to any online platforms. A search of the accused’s mobile phone reportedly revealed numerous objectionable images and videos of women.

The incident has sparked outrage among patients and their family members, who have demanded a thorough investigation and strict punishment for the accused. The episode has also raised serious concerns over the security arrangements at GB Hospital. With incidents of theft and other security breaches being reported from time to time, the latest case has further intensified questions regarding the safety and security of patients and visitors within the hospital premises.
