Congress held a huge rally in Agartala on Thursday demanding the restoration of people’s work-food-democracy. Gathering in front of Rabindra Bhavan, the procession started from there. The work of the meeting started after going around the various roads of Agartala city and returning to that place. The party’s state in-charge Dr. Ajay Kumar, All India leader Jarita Lightphlang, former chief minister Sameer Ranjan Barman, state Congress president Virjit Sinha, MLA Sudeep Roy Barman, former MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha and others were present there. Diba Chandra Rankhal, who resigned from the post of BJP MLA, Raj Kumar Sarkar, brother of ex-MLA Dilip Sarkar, Trinamool student leader Rakesh Das rejoined the Congress in the public meeting. The Congress leadership welcomed them. In the meeting, MLA Sudip Roy Burman promised that if the Congress government is established, they will run the government with honesty and devotion. Never before has the police been so stooped under the current government. Sudeep Babu also expressed his anger about the broken health system of the state. The MLA complained that a cultural program was held in Vivakananda stadium with the slogan of drug free, but the field was drowned in drugs.
