At around 10:30 pm on Sunday night, angry people ransacked the Khowai Vidyut Nigam office. That evening, strong winds and light rain fell in and around Khowai town. And that’s why the electricity service of Khowai city was disrupted. Despite contacting the power corporation on the phone at night, the local residents came to the corporation office at 10:30 p.m. as they did not get any reply. They ransacked the office without finding the officers of the corporation there. Group-D employee Sajal Sarkar was attacked by locals. Other employees ran away from the office for their lives.Electricity workers said that the storm had disturbed the line and the power went out. They were repairing it and it might take some time. They expressed their anger at this attack on them without giving them time for repairing.
