Workers and helpers of 239 anganwadi centers of Damburnagar ICDS project have not received their salary allowance for the month of April. On Friday, all the Anganwadi workers and helpers staged a lock-up protest at Gandachhara CDPO office demanding payment of salary and allowances. After the office was locked for almost an hour, the Principal Officer of Social Welfare and Social Education Department of TTAADC assured that their salaries and allowances would be cleared by Saturday. All the Anganwadi Centers of Damburnagar ICDS Project were closed indefinitely from Monday due to non-payment of salaries and allowances.Anganari workers were angry about not getting their salaries.
